What are you playing this weekend? (January 27)

Every bone in my body tells me that I shouldn’t go back to Vampire Survivors to try out the new adventure modes. Whenever I play that game, my clock seems to go haywire and show that three hours have passed despite the fact that I’ve only been playing for 10 minutes. Strange. I’ll definitely be going back to him for a round or two though. A few runs can’t hurt, right?

Well, after all that nonsense with The fading world, I wanted to go back and give Pokémon Legends: Arceus another chance. It didn’t really work out the first time I played it, but this time something clicked. I find it quite relaxing just wandering around, collecting Pokémon, grabbing berries… It’s nice.

I’m still coming back to Hitman: Blood Money after playing it for review. It’s such a great game and levels like A New Life are simply all time classics.

2024 was already a good year for my backlog! I finally managed to finish Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, made great progress on OMORI and finally finished Persona 5 after playing it with my girlfriend for the last five years! Which means I’m basically ready Persona 3 Reload, Is it? If only it came to Switch…tears

I’m traveling to LA this weekend to see NieR Symphony, so I’m really tempted to restart Automata because it works so well on Switch. However, I’m about halfway through the first Golden Sun and it would be criminal if I didn’t finish watching this! What did I say earlier about my backlog?

I hope to invest a good amount of time in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, where I am in love with the combat options within the game. Legend of Steel also did some overtime as I’m trying to get one credit to see the “true ending”. There’s a big void in my life now that I’m done GTA V campaign and I’m not quite sure how to fulfill it. I was hoping to get a few good hours of UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celes under my belt, but I realized that the physical version won’t hit stores until mid-February.

It’s the game of the week Tekken 8. Like many of my favorite Namco franchises, this will skip the Switch, but I sincerely hope that won’t be the case when the Switch successor is out. I still can’t believe we have the best entry in the franchise on the Wii U but not the Switch.

SURPRISE I played Apollo Justice the whole time! Did you guess? What do you mean you didn’t care? Woof. WOWWWW.

So now I can watch my partner play the trilogy for the first time! We’ve been waiting a long time for this — me more than him — and even though he’s already played the first 2 and 1/2 cases of Apollo Justice on my 3DS, we might just replay them to keep a sense of momentum through the games. I’m very excited about the orc case, to see what he thinks about the Spirit of Justice, as well as the shocking twists in Dual Destinies.

Oh, I play Palworld too. Sorry, Pokémon Company!

After clearing Golden Sun, I’ve now moved on to The Lost Age for the first time. I’m really excited to see where the plot goes with this — Golden Sun has been a bit underwhelming so it’ll be nice to tie everything up. Plus, is the gameplay as good? *fan self*

We also play Like a dragon: endless wealth on PS5, though my partner takes the lead on that — I’m new to RGG. Instead, like Jim, I’m sorely tempted to jump into Vampire Survivors and check out Adventure Mode.

That’s what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? Take the following poll with the game you’ll be running over the next few days, then slide into the comments to tell us what other titles are on the cards.
