After last week's news that you would only be able to have one island in each location Crossing the Animals: New Horizons, is now believed to be something more about the findings.
According to the post on Nintendo Switch subreddit
Obviously, if you've played Animal Crossing game in the past, you'll know that it requires a lot of your time. So if this is technically true – it means you can't move your backup file to new programs.
Fingerprints in this case aren't always the same, and nothing else protects your backup file. Nintendo has already assured you that the upcoming next-generation rollout will not be compatible with cloud backups either, to avoid wasting time.
