It is possible that some of our readers have experienced this, suddenly you see how one of the components or peripherals starts to work erratically and you see how drivers are not foundNot even on the Internet. Well, for system users of a certain age, this is a common problem and not really a minor one.
If computing has progressed somewhat in recent decades, it is in comfort, far are these daily confrontations in which the PC suffered one day from one thing or another as if it were a grumbling old man. All thanks to the excellent management of hardware drivers and their standardization. However, not only do the compromised pages disappear from the network of networks, but also, and even if you don’t believe it, the hardware drivers.
The Problem of Disappearing Drivers
One of the problems with Windows 10 is its driver repository. If our system is too old, we will find that suddenly we will see how the operating system does not have the driver in the driver repository. The reason? The manufacturer has put an end to technical support and if we find ourselves in the position of having to reinstall everything we can suddenly find a series of drivers that we had previously insured, are no longer.
And what consequences does this have? Well several, we may find that things like the sound card on the motherboard, the wireless connection or even things like the little temperature sensor stop working. And all because of the fact that one fine day the manufacturer of our laptop deleted, who knows why, some drivers from the repository. An example is what happened to a server with his already veteran laptop, where after a reinstall of the operating system he was unable to find certain drivers in the repository.
That is, suddenly I see that a series of driverless devices appear, Windows cannot find them, and they are not listed on the manufacturer’s website. However, some research tells me that these are essential motherboard drivers. Why didn’t Windows miss them before and why do they now? Because I had them on hand. Let’s not forget that each device has an identification code that allows the correct drivers to be used.
Let someone else do the dirty work
The other big problem we have is the fact that since manufacturers wash their hands of drivers when it comes to drivers, they leave it to others to create old driver repositories. The problem? As soon as they can’t pay the server, they are lost forever. And the problem is further exacerbated at a time when many devices are sold without serial drivers. The answer? You can download them from the Internet, but as soon as they disappear from the network of networks, we can definitely say goodbye to them.
The funny thing is that before they were included in the product box, but with the disappearance of optical drives in computers, they fell into disuse. The normal thing would be to include a small MicroSD card or a low capacity USB stick in which the manufacturer has included a collection of drivers for its products. Not just that one in particular, even if they weren’t updated, that would already be something. On the other hand, we recommend that you make backup copies of them just in case, you never know what may happen when you reinstall the operating system.
