Although it may have been well over 10 years since Harry Potter last appeared on our screens with his lightning bolt scar and sassy attitude (not counting the controversial Fantastic Beasts series), these magical films remain one of the most popular fantasy series of all time.
If you’re wondering where to watch The Adventures of the Boy Who Lived, fear not. There are still places online where you can get all the movies and watch them over and over again without having to get all the DVDs.

The correct order to watch Harry Potter
The order in which to watch Harry Potter may seem pretty obvious, given that the films were released in chronological order. However, the titles of the films themselves don’t give any clue about this order, so unless you’re a big fan, you might be a little confused. Here is the correct – and chronological – order:
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001)
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010)
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011)
Is Harry Potter on Netflix?
Potterheads rejoice, because Netflix has all eight films in its UK movie catalog. The first and second Fantastic Beasts movies are also available to stream here.
Harry Potter isn’t on Netflix in the US, but that’s not a big deal, provided you have a VPN. A VPN can redirect your IP address, meaning your identity will be protected online, and you can also change your location to make it appear like you’re browsing from another country.
We personally recommend NordVPN, as it offers a wide range of servers and competitive prices, although ExpressVPN is also a good option. We have more information in our roundup of the best VPNs for streaming.
Discovery Warner Bros.
You can also try one of our recommended free VPNs. However, these offer lower bandwidth speeds and don’t offer as much privacy protection, so proceed at your own risk.
If you already have a Netflix subscription, it’s pretty simple. Simply download the VPN of your choice, choose a server in one of the countries listed above, then open Netflix and log in with your regular account. You won’t have to pay anything extra, so it’s actually the most financially feasible option, especially if you already have a Netflix account.
Note that this is against Netflix’s terms of service and the company may reserve the right to cancel your account, so proceed accordingly. We’ve detailed the steps even further in our guide to watching American Netflix in the UK.
Is Harry Potter on ITV?
At the time of writing, you can only watch the final four films in the Harry Potter saga on ITVX – which is free for Brits.
Where else is Harry Potter available to stream?
In the UK, all eight Harry Potter films are also available on Sky Cinema – but if you don’t have a TV package with Sky, you can also watch them with Now’s Cinema subscription, which costs £9.99 per month .
This platform also has all three Fantastic Beasts films available to stream, as well as the special reunion episode that debuted last year.
In the US, you can see them all on Max – subscription prices start from $9.99 per month.
Harry Potter on Amazon Prime
The Harry Potter series is not available as part of a Prime Video subscription. However, you can still buy or rent them from the site. Renting is half the price, so we recommend it if you don’t plan to watch each of the films more than once. You can find the films on Prime here.
Harry Potter on YouTube
If you prefer, you can also watch the Harry Potter movies on YouTube by renting or purchasing them. There is also a rental option in SD (rather than HD) which is a bit cheaper if price is a source of contention for you. Start with the Philosopher’s Stone, and all other links are available from there.
Harry Potter on Google Play
Finally, you can buy or rent all movies on Google Play. There’s not really a big difference in price compared to Amazon Prime or YouTube, but you can get a discount on all movies by purchasing the entire collection on Google Play.
