After the failure and cancellation of The Acolyte, it is difficult to predict how the next series in the Star Wars universe will unfold. However, after a few darker productions, Disney wants to set a lighter tone for a galaxy far, far away with Skeleton Crew. And this is perhaps the key to the success of the series.
Although Skeleton Crew is coming soon, Disney hasn’t shared much information about the plot. However, thanks to the trailers, we have the impression that the show will have a similar vibe to the famous productions of the 80s, telling the story of a group of children experiencing extraordinary adventures. Titles like Goonies, ET, and Stand by Me come to mind, but fans of the series will probably also quickly think of Netflix’s Stranger Things.
But will Skeleton Crew really take inspiration from 80s cult classics? Will it captivate viewers as much as the story of Eleven and her friends? Here you will find out what to expect from the new installment of the Star Wars franchise.
When will Skeleton Crew be released?
The new series from the Star Wars universe will debut on Disney+ on Tuesday December 3, 2024 with a two-episode premiere.
Subsequent episodes will appear on the service each week.

The latest series in the Star Wars universe takes place nine years after the events of Return of the Jedi. The story centers on four children, friends whose curiosity about the world leads them to the strangest places in the galaxy.
