We are April 1st, the day of the innocent saints for the Anglo-Saxon world or also known as April’s Fool’s Day. However, we couldn’t miss the information on the specifications of the AMD RX 7950XT, one of the high-end graphics cards under RDNA 3 architecture that we will see in a few months. And before continuing reading, we can already tell you that it is a beast.
The next battle in the world of gaming graphics cards will be between the NVIDIA RTX 40 based on the Ada Lovelace architecture and the AMD RX 7000 based on the RDNA 3 architecture. will be the first to be based on splitting the graphics chip into several in the same way they did with their desktop Ryzen processors.
The split, however, and for the first generation of chip-based AMD graphics cards, we won’t see it as two identical chips. On the one hand we will have the GCD which will be in charge of rendering the scene and on the other hand the MCD which will have the memory controller, the accelerators and the Infinity Cache. So it’s a very similar division to your desktop processors.
AMD RX 7950 XT specs leak
At the moment, we’re crossing our fingers to find out if they’re real, but we see them as possible and all the sources talking about them tell us that it’s not an April Fool’s joke. The information was leaked by Greymon55 and refers to the AMD RX 7950 XT, which is said to be one of the most powerful graphics cards AMD will release for its next generation. In any case, we recommend that you take this information as a rumor, since there are details that could change in the final model that will reach us.

The AMD Radeon RX 7950 XT will have 15,360 Stream Processors, which many mistakenly call 32-bit floating-point units. Well, one of the things we will see in RDNA 3 will be the rratio of 128 ALUs in FP32 per shader unit. This is something Intel and NVIDIA have already adopted in their ARC Alchemist and RTX 30 respectively. On paper, we are talking about a leap of 3 times more units than current RX 6900 XT and all of a sudden 2.5 GHz Boost or Game speed. The TDP is apparently not yet final, but it looks like it will be about 500Wso you will need the new PCIe Gen 5 power connector.
As for the interface with memory, it would continue to be 256-bit GDDR6but apparently they managed to reach the 21 Gbps, at the moment we do not know if this figure is exaggerated or if these modules are really already in production. Remember that Samsung said it hit 24Gbps. In any case, if this figure were confirmed as true, it would mean that GDDR6X has no reason to exist anymore. Of course, this may be one of the reasons for the increased consumption of the graphics card.
Finally, we talk about 512 MB of Infinity Cache 3D, the current does not have the three-dimensional slogan. Which makes us think that it is an implementation of V-Cache in a graphics card. In this case, it would be mounted above the so-called MCD chiplet. For now, we’ll wait for more details on the AMD RX 7950XT and the rest of the graphics cards with RDNA 3 architecture.
