Vivo has earned a good reputation in recent years with its new smart phones: they are cheap and quality, something that always pleases. It seems that this idea of good price – good quality will continue as we have seen with the new Vivo V25, a mobile presented in India.
Here’s everything you need to know about the new Vivo V25 and Vivo V25 Pro, including key specs and whether we can expect them to appear in Europe and/or Latin America soon.
What happened to the Vivo V24?
Although logic suggests that the Vivo V23 5G successor would be the Vivo V24 5G, we now know that it is the V25 series. It’s a strange move, sure, but not surprising when it comes to Vivo – the company has already skipped the Vivo V22, switching from V21 to V23 for no apparent reason.
It is suspected that this could be due to the inclusion of a 4 in the name – which has unfortunate connotations in the Eastern market – but this does not match the previously defunct V22.
Maybe Vivo doesn’t like some numbers…
In any case, the next smartphones in Vivo’s V collection are the Vivo V25 and the Vivo V25 Pro.
When will the Vivo V25 range go on sale?
Following the announcement in India, the Vivo V25 Pro is now available for pre-order and will go on sale on August 25 in India, part of Asia, Latin America, Middle East and 20 other markets, although at this time does not include the US, UK or EU, nor does it mention the standard V25.
A wider launch isn’t a given either: Vivo is launching plenty of phones that don’t reach Europe. In fact, Vivo has only started launching devices outside of Asia and other select regions, with Europe receiving some models but not others.
The Vivo V21 5G arrived in Europe, but only at the end of 2021, while the V23 5G was only available in mainland Europe.
Those in the US, however, are absolutely out of luck: Vivo is one of many Chinese brands that doesn’t have representation in America, and that’s unlikely to change with the V25 series.
How much does the Vivo V25 range cost?
Although the Vivo V25 range is now official, its price remains unclear. Although it revealed both the Vivo V25 and V25 Pro at today’s event, the company has yet to say a word about the standard V25’s launch date or cost. .
The Vivo V25 Pro, meanwhile, starts at Rs 35,999 (around $453) for the 8GB/128GB combo, and there’s also a 12GB/256GB variant that will cost Rs 39,999 (around $503). .
For reference, here are the prices for the latest V-Series devices:
- Vivo V23: ₹29,990 rupees (around $470)
- Vivo V23 Pro: ₹38,990 rupees (around $460)
- Vivo V21: ₹29,990 rupees (around $519)
What’s new in the Vivo V25 range?
The Vivo V25 line is now official, and if we’re being honest, it doesn’t look too different from its predecessor, but given that the phones feature a pretty sleek design, with a fluorite AG glass back that changes color when it’s is exposed to light ultraviolet light, this is not necessarily a bad thing.
The Vivo V25 has an incredibly thin 7.79mm body and a 6.44-inch 90Hz AMOLED display, while the Pro model is a slightly thicker (but still thin) 8.62mm with curved edges on its larger and faster 6.45-inch 120Hz AMOLED. display.
The Vivo V25 comes in Diamond Black, Aqua Blue and Sunrise Gold, the latter two with color-changing capabilities, while the V25 Pro comes in Starlight Black and Surf Blue, the latter with color-changing optics.
It’s a fun design, but like previous iterations of the V-series, the Vivo V25 range is primarily focused on landscape photography. smartphone.
Both the V25 and V25 Pro feature 64MP OIS-equipped rear cameras, as well as 8MP ultra-wide macro and 2MP macro which Vivo says “offer a excellent imaging experience.”
Unsurprisingly, the Pro model takes things one step further in the camera department with improved low-light performance. The company has upgraded its Super Night Mode technology to improve color accuracy and brightness in low-light images, while the Real-Time Extreme Night Vision feature lets you manually adjust exposure intensity in time. real to further improve the brightness, noise. control and the overall look of the shot.
There are also several new shooting modes, such as the Vlog Movie function, which offers tutorials on how to film in different scenarios, as well as an improved Multi-Style Portrait function for stunning selfies.
As for the front cameras, the V25 has a 50 MP one, while the V25 Pro has a 32 MP sensor. Strange as it may sound, we suspect the 50Mp sensor aperture isn’t quite as good as the Pro model, and expect better low-light performance from the more expensive sibling.
In terms of performance, the Vivo V25 includes the MediaTek Dimensity 900 – an improvement over the previous generation 920 – along with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage, depending on which variant you choose. There’s also a 4500mAh battery with 44W fast charging technology.
Those looking for something more powerful should look to the Vivo V25 Pro, which features an upgraded MediaTek Dimensity 1300 and comes with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. It also has a larger battery, at 4,830mAh, and with 66W charging it will go from empty to full faster than its sibling.
