How can anyone not love Kirby? This week's episode of Kotaku Splitscreen, I found two of my own tissues to try Kirby: Planet Robobot because I won the bet. Kirk has never played Kirby a game before, and Jason is just hesitant. By the time they hit the show, they'll both be dedicated Kirby fans, just like me.
First up, we're talking about the other games we play, with Kirk still going The doctrine of the dragon, move on Surprising Death, and Jason turns up The original sin of the Godhead. After the break (33:27), we enter Kirby: Planet Robobot talk, and then we'll talk about the news, especially how the coronavirus affected the video game industry last week. We close with off-topic conversations Do not remove Stones, RoboCop, Witch Netflix show, too Better Call Saul, and a selection of Kirk's music.

Jason: Kirby: Planet Robobot is a 3DS game by Nintendo. All three of us played it because Maddy won our annual forecast 2019. You have received excellent forecasts. I think Kirk and I both got zero.
Kirk: We tied the second one. Let's put it like that.
Maddy: Kirk has a half-point debatable.
Jason: But we decided a while ago, no points. So it doesn't count. So we all play Kirby: Planet Robobot.
Maddy: I've beaten it all before, the first time I played it. I played it when it came out, I liked it, and I got all the coding. I never collected all the stickers, and I never expected you both to do that, but I believe I at least recommend getting all the code points.
Jason: Code cubes are fun. There are fun little puzzles to go and find. I will give you the first impression and then I will throw in you some thoughts.
Maddy: Absolutely. I'm in Area 4 now. Somewhere during the game.
Kirk: He is taller than me. I just thought, Jason, if you said a little background, that you would say, "Kirby is a dark-skinned living from Planet Earth that has unlimited power and can take out his enemies to copy their abilities."
Maddy: Endless! Unlimited power.
Jason: What is the name of the planet?
Kirk / Maddy: Popstar!
Jason: Popstar?
Maddy: That's where Kirby came from. Duh.
Jason: Kirby from Andy Samberg the movie co-creator?
Kirk: You're from Popstar: Never Give Up.
Maddy: I can tell you that you didn't stop the game, Jason, because if you stop the game it will tell you this important information about Kirby that Kirk just read to you.
Kirk: I found the information very helpful. Now we all know who Kirby is.
Jason: Actually, I lost some progress sadly because I was playing on a train, and then my battery died, and I said, "God made it." First impressions: It's awesome. I absolutely love all the little secrets you can find. I really like what they do with 3D background and background. The 3DS is clearly stated. It's fun to play. It's just a fun, fun game. It's a very fun game.
But the reason Kirby – there are two reasons Kirby never stuck with me, even though Kirby is mine Smash main. The Kirby Games did not really suit me for two reasons. The first is that it is very easy, and still difficult Planet Robobot. The second is that the actual mechanics of floating around and controlling Kirby and sucking things up and spitting it out and making their own little dash, just aren't as fun or as satisfying to me as the other platforms. As a Hollow Knight
Maddy: How about getting into mechs? Do you think this game is exciting?
Jason: The mechs, of course. The mech is really fun.
MaddyThe good news: That will continue to increase.
Jason: Great! I like mech a lot.
Kirk: Can we explain the sequence of machines to open the audience? Here is an amazing sequence. He plays like a wet little pink creature, then gets into a fuckin & # 39; mech. That's a great mechanical suit. Kirby gets into it and basically as a super anime princess video a playable version. This mech becomes the same pink magic as Kirby. And then the sweet music of the ass comes into play. Then you simply spend your way through this level, simply piercing the huge obstacles that were blocking your path before. She is very beautiful. That was all I wanted to say. She is very beautiful.
Maddy: And you can copy capabilities like mech. It has all of these different mech looks satisfying in their own ways.
Kirk: Great! The one with propeller blades? I still have that, where you fly with spots.
Maddy: Or one rock, what do you have with these two fists? I don't know if you have enough yet. It's pretty cool. Just a gesture – this game feels very touching to me. I totally get how someone might not like the Kirby game, but the things about this particular Kirby game that I like are the way they feel and the way they control. I love controlling Kirby but I also love the way the mechs feel. There are all these times when you have to remove the screw. The fun game lets you not use a screwdriver, and it feels amazing.
Kirk: Because you did it with a pad pad!
Maddy: And a small circle pad, of course. It's a great machine, has the same size as a scarf, and simply wraps things around and moves the shit. I don't know. She felt amazing. It's a really fun game.
Kirk: Yes. I agree that it is a very good game. I get what you say, Jason, about basic movements, which can be tricky for me, in part because I don't know if there's a way to change the buttons, but jumping to the right of the diamond is a little surprising to me. I used to skip the bottom and diamonds of the face buttons.
Maddy: I bet you can change that.
Kirk: I don't really look. I stopped trying to access the options menu, and when the thing I was reading appeared in it, it told you Kirby's bookstore, and I said, "Wow, that's OK."
Maddy: I think all the options in this game!
Kirk: It helps! This is my first Kirby match!
