Happy Birthday Stand out Franchise – which I am currently treating as a real person and not a company intellectual property – you are turning 25 this year! Wow how time flies. They’re bigger than ever, with multiple games, DLC, mods and now an Amazon TV show in development. Let’s see what Amazon has brought you and all your fans to celebrate this wonderful time! Oh…uh, a single screenshot from the show that doesn’t actually show anything. Hm.
First announced in July 2020Bethesda and Amazon are working together on the upcoming live action Stand out TV show set in the famous fictional universe of the games. And just like in the games, the series will feature underground vaults where small clusters of people survived a devastating nuclear war that devastated the planet and turned most of it into a desolate wasteland full of mutants and other evil things. For folks who’ve been waiting to get their first real look at the as yet unnamed Stand out
When I put on my detective hat and pull out my Novum-sized magnifying glass, I can make out a few details. For example, this is a safe. Where people hid from nuclear war upstairs. People wear Vault 33 coveralls. We’ve never seen Vault 33 in the games, so it will likely give creators more freedom to tell whatever story they have planned. Also, I spotted a lens flare, so you know this is a fancy and expensive production.
As for the actual details about the show, we don’t have much to do beyond this teaser. We know this Walton Goggins is part of the show and plays a mutated ghoul that is currently untitled. In July he shared a picture his trailer on Instagram on his first day of shooting. And in August Leaked images of some sets from the show. While it’s still very early days – the show doesn’t have a release date yet – the sets and this new screenshot appear to be consistent with the series, at least visually Stand out esthetic. Will the actual show be as good as Fallout: New Vegas? Only time will tell… (But probably not.)
