A new level for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was revealed. The level, named Dark Water, was introduced during Summer Game Fest 2022. The ship level features some impressive graphics and firefights from the game, but perhaps the most notable part is its moving cover, which makes it unique among the other levels in the game we’ve seen so far.
Players join several other members of Task Force 141 as the team infiltrates the cargo ship, fights through it, and then chases down another by driving their boat right into it. On the deck of the second ship, dozens of enemies and shipping containers slide around all over the place, giving the level a shifting battlefield and giving players room to race from one battle to the next.
This level will sit alongside some of the other campaign missions shown to Polygon at a preview event, including car chase, underwater stealth, night vision goggles, and skyscraper heist levels.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows via Steam, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
