On January 17, 2023, Seedot will be in the spotlight, and you’ll get double XP for catching Pokémon. And yes, Seedot can be shiny Pokemon Go!
Seedot’s Shiny debuted at a Community Day in May 2020. When you snag Seedot to try and find a Shiny you may have missed at Community Day, pop a Lucky Egg to earn XP.
Pokemon is about catching them all, and in pokemon go, That means catching every variant, including rare Shiny versions of Pokémon. Every Tuesday in Pokemon Go, players will see a specific Pokémon spawn more frequently during Spotlight Hour, which runs from 6:00 p.m. to 6:59 p.m. local time. Spotlight Hour is your chance to load up Candy, a chance at high CP Pokémon, and if you’re lucky, a Shiny Pokémon.
Will Shiny rates increase during Spotlight Hour?
Based on data collected from the Pokémon community, Shiny rates don’t appear to increase during Spotlight hours The Silph Street. However, the sheer number of Pokemon spawning during the hour-long weekly event gives you an improved chance of clicking on a random Shiny. The more Pokemon you click, the more chances you have of catching a Shiny Pokemon.
What can I do to attract more Shiny Pokémon?
Unfortunately not much. It seems to be coincidence. Shiny Pokemon catch rates are set by developer Niantic and typically only increase during special events like Community Days or Safari Zones or in Legendary Raids. There are no consumable items that increase Shiny Pokemon rates.
