Fishing is a big part Fields of Mistriawhether you’re just trying to fulfill a townsperson’s request or finish the museum. Finding the fish you need can be frustrating, so we’ve compiled everything you need to know about successful fishing in one guide for you.
Below we describe in detail how to find fish of certain sizes and provide a complete table of all the fish in the game.
Fish shadow sizes in the fields of Mistria
Each fish has a different size, which makes hunting easier. There are small, medium, large and giant fish, all of which have different shadow sizes as shown below.
Telling the difference between small and medium, or medium and large, can be difficult at times, but the more you fish, the better your eye will become.
If you’re hunting a specific fish, like a rare giant fish, leave the map it’s on and return to it to refresh the spawns until you see the correct shadow size.
Complete list of fish in the fields of Mistria
Although your in-game almanac lists 111 fish, there are actually only 109. Two entries in the almanac relate to collecting waste (wood and fiber).
There are also four legendary fish (Cherryfish, Leaffish, Lightningfish, and Snowfish) that you can’t catch until you reach fishing level 30 and activate the Legendary ability. You’ll receive an in-game notification that these fish are nearby when they appear, so keep your fishing rod with you.
As for the Lightning Fish and Snow Fish, some players have reported having better luck finding these fish during storms and blizzards respectively, but since the in-game descriptions only say “rainy” and “snowy” days, we’ll go with that.
