Current Dawntrail Aether Locations in FFXIV

With Final Fantasy 14‘S Morning trail Expansion is coming more Ether currents for players to find. These hard-to-find collectibles are scattered around the map and you must find them all to unlock flying in their respective zones.

With a total of 60 aether streams to find, this can be a daunting task, but we are here to help you.

[Ed. note: We have tried to be considerate of spoilers in our guide. Our maps are complete so they do have the names of the zones and locations of dungeons and trials. We’ve also separated the fifth and sixth areas with a large image, as the sixth zone had not been revealed in any form (unlike the other areas, which were shown in patch notes). Don’t scroll below that image unless you’re ready to see the final area.]

Aether currents in FFXIV, explained

As usual, to unlock flying In each new zone you must find and interact with … Complete 10 Aether Streams and five quests. The four side quests required for Aetherstreams are marked with the usual blue plus sign quest marker, and the fifth quest stream is a reward for completing one of the main scenario quests in the area (usually towards the end of your stay in said area).

Normally, you can use your Aether Compass in your key items to find out how many yalms away the next current is. If you don’t want to deal with that, you can just use our maps for a dead-simple search. Your Aether Compass can still be found in your Collections menu under the Quests tab if you want to find currents like Yoshi-P intended.

We list the Morning trail You traverse the zones in the order you encounter them, but because the paths diverge, some of them, such as Kozama’uka and Urqopacha, are interchangeable.

Below we list our ether currents in the order in which they appear in the Aetherstream menu from left to rightso if you’re missing one, you’ll know which one you need without having to use your Aether Compass. That being said, we recommend not grabbing these in the order they’re numbered, but rather just grabbing what’s closest to you as you explore these new maps.

Current locations of the Kozama’uka ether

Note that you will only receive half of these currents on your first visit to Kozama’uka. You will receive the other five when you return here later to the southern half of the map.

1. On a southern cliff overlooking the water.
2. On an island in the middle of the water. (You can swim to this island!)
3. In the corner of the cave.
4. On a grassy hill near some purple flowers.
5. At the end of the dock.
6. Around the base of the tree that supports the House of Winds High.
7. On a piece of flower land behind a tree.
8. On a rock in the water around the destroyed boats.
9. In the caves down at the edge of a cliff.
10. North of House of Waters High.

Current locations of the Urqopacha ether

Just like the Kozama’uka Currents, you’ll only find five of them on your first visit. The southern part of the map unlocks later and gives you the remaining five.

1. On the top edge of a cliff.
2. On top of the cliff overlooking the northern half of Urqopacha, behind some ruins.
3. On the lower cliffs of Lake Chirwagur.
4. On a cliff northwest of Ciblus Coffeeground.
5. On a cliff northeast of Agave Jaws.
6. On some rocks, surrounded by bears.
7. On a rock by the water.
8. On a cliff edge opposite the northern half of the map, near some graves.
9. On top of a cliff overlooking Miplus Mate garden.
10. On a rock next to Icuvlo’s Inn.

Current locations of the Yak’tel Aether

To get to the southern half of the map, you have to play through part of the story.

1. On the ledge overlooking the shady pond behind a large tree.
2. Under an arched root by the water.
3. Under an arched root on the ledge above the water.
4. At the top of the cliff on the east side, not in the cave. You have to go around the cave entrance to reach it.
5. On a northern ledge overlooking the Yak Awak Tsoly.
6. On a rocky outcrop along the path down to Xmun Hojaw.
7. On a cliff next to a large tree east of Moxutural Zooj.
8. At the bottom of this tree platform, simply follow the roots down.
9. On a cliff overlooking the northern waters.
10. In the forest near a small jetty.

Current locations of the Shaloani ether

1. In a small corner, surrounded by cliffs.
2. On top of a small, flat rock platform.
3. On a tiny dock overlooking the water.
4. At the end of the winding canyon.
5. About halfway up the small mountain on the south side.
6. On top of a small ledge.
7. A staircase-like rock formation leads towards the water.
8. On a rock in the southern part of the station.
9. On a huge boulder.
10. To the balcony of the building, up the stairs.

Heritage Found Aether Current Locations

1. On a median strip between the remains of two trees.
2. On the edge of another damn little cliff.
3. Behind some rocks near the edge of a cliff.
4. On the edge of the flat cliff.
5. On the cliff north of the end of the railway tracks.
6. On the ledge. To get up here you have to come from the north or south.
7. On a small bridge in the abandoned city.
8. On the edge of the cliff overlooking the north side.
9. On a rock in the cave.
10. On the edge of a cliff west of the Aetheryte.

1. Next to a large pillar-tree structure.
2. By the lava on the west side of the arena.
3. Right on the edge of a cliff overlooking the lava.
4. Between the two Ferris wheels.
5. Under an open part of a tower-like structure.
6. At some fences next to the water.
7. At the northeast corner of the museum.
8. At the edge of a path, along a railing.
9. On the east side of the castle entrance.
10. In the middle inside a rotunda.
