Back in June 2014 – at this point almost a decade ago –dead island 2 was unveiled with a very good trailer and a 2015 release window. Only now, in 2023, after numerous delays, multiple studios and even canceled versions, dead island 2 is almost there. In fact, it’s now a week early and only eight years late.
The first dead island, developed by Techland, released in 2011. It wasn’t a perfect game, but its mix of first-person combat, open-world hijinks, co-op zombie killin’, and beautiful tropical beaches connected enough people to its publisher justify trying to turn the game into a multi-game franchise. That flopped hard. However, that hasn’t stopped the open-world zombie RPG dead island 2 from the announcement at E3 2014 this very memorable trailer featuring a jogger. And then the game was delayed and delayed and different teams were working on it and it was presumed dead and then re-announced and now after all these years dead island 2 somehow comes out earlier. 2023 is weird, y’all.
As announced today, dead island 2developed by Dambuster, scheduled for release on April 21, 2023. It was originally supposed to be released on April 28th. The news of this “early” The release came via a video that showed comments from players asking if the game would ever come out for a mansays “Subs-fucking-lutely” before announcing the new May 21 release date.
dead island 2 was on a trip, say the least. Its original developer, Techland, went off and worked on another zombie game, dying light. Meanwhile, Yager took on the task of developing the sequel. After the game was announced in 2014 with a 2015 release window, it was delayed and Yager left the project in July 2015

It’s a wild thought after all these delays dead island 2 finally takes a break. I remember when the game was first announced in 2014. I was almost 22 and didn’t work at my city. I lived in another state. The Xbox One and PS4 weren’t even a year old. Really a different time.
dead island 2 will be released on April 21, 2023 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. Hopefully.
