Tonight, FortniteThe new non-violent Party Royale mode held its first major event, a concert by three different EDM artists. It had more than just game events we've seen lately, but, like so many others Fortnite events I feel very old, its exuberant charm gained me.
Dillon Francis, Steve Aoki, and Deadmau5 play the short Stage at Main Stage & # 39; s Party, a floating screen of beach panels. There were some glitches — some technical mics artists & # 39; s not working from scratch, and my sound cut in and out of the times – but overall the event worked as you'd expect: looking up Fortnite players when dressed in weird clothes, dancing and beating and trying to pet my dog.
I never really heard of any of the other artists that were there – as I mentioned in mine Marshmello
Now Ready To Pre-Order, Inevitable Disney Face mask Is …
On a technical level, the Party Royale mode has not hit the scale of recent Travis Scott event, which included huge holograms and jumped into the dimensions. During the Main Stage, the huge holograms danced and the panels that made the landscape changed to reflect the video on the screen. Occasionally, colored rain came down from the sky, or ribs of light were pulled by. It sounded a lot like the size of a Marshmello concert; rather than all over the world, in concert the perfect fit inside. It wasn't as intense of emotion as Travis Scott, or as amazing as last year star Wars Premiere, But it really felt like it was a concert, a feeling many of us are probably missing these days.
Party Royale's limitations on construction meant that there were no higher platforms to look at, but they could also be built by way of action. The smaller server size meant less players from previous events, which made it sound a little grand concert but also deeper. The whole thing just shines in Party Royale. Events like this seem to be just one of the things the mode is designed for, and the small amount and way the event takes place in the map section specifically for concerts makes it feel like an epic "Look What We Can" with its metaverse aspirations and more like just something else that would happen locally you're just sitting there. I woke up unaware of the music, had a great time Fortnite
If you missed today's show, you can catch a stop tomorrow at 2pm Eastern.
