Time flies by as you have fun / redefine expectations and help inspire one whole generation of Video games.
We take such games for granted today, but it’s hard to understand how important they are Sword & Sworcery was at the time of its release in 2011, especially for mobile games. It was part of a generation of releases, along with other somehow forgotten greats like Canabalt
And the art. Sword & Sworcery The crisp, pencil-thin art style is instantly recognizable and has inspired countless games over the past decade.
Indeed, It was even nominated as one of the finalists for our 2011 Game of the Year, something that few (if any?) mobile releases have made since then.
It wouldn’t stay mobile forever, of course. It popped up on PC a year after the iPhone and iPad were released, and was ported to the Switch back in 2018 to find new audiences each time.
But the game was made and left its mark on the phones. where it is available to date for just $ 4. If somehow you’ve never played it, that’s the best $ 4 you will ever spend on a video game.
Happy 10th birthday!
