Earlier today, I tweeted explain that for some crazy reason Kotaku left me behind the wheel of their website today and asked my followers to post AAA news to fill in the awkward Monday-holiday-driven silence in the game world. Turns out they don’t know what Triple-A means, but what the hell, here’s the groundbreaking indie gaming news from those who responded!
This proxy is a top-down cyberpunk shooter from From South Games. It looks outrageously smooth, somewhere in between Alien race and Hotline Miami, and wonderfully bloody. It’s slated to come out later this year, made by just one guy who’s just downright insane.
Deepest chamber is a deck building roguelite that looks like it’s in the dungeon floors of. settled Legend of Grimrock. From the roughly 3.2 seconds of actual game shown in the trailer, it looks neat! A demo is due on June 16.
Zodiac Legion
Talk about X-COM, S.laves of magic is a tactical turn-based fantasy RPG that says it is inspired by both X-COM and Guild wars, these are certainly two games that I have never heard in the same breath! Fascinated. It’s currently in alpha and will be out sometime next year.
Jupiter Moons: Mecha is another roguelite deck builder, but this time outside. With mechs! I really love the cartoon style here, and it looks a lot more complicated than the standard deck builder. inventory Tetris and everything. Its release date is “before the next Jupiter year,” which means … oh, anytime in the next 11.86 Earth years.
Guardian of Gridvale is going to be a tactical turn-based RPG that says it has “timing mechanics where the enemies show their moves in advance”. What’s nice of them. It targets PCs, consoles, and phones, but not everyone? The creator gorgeously quotes himself as saying, “Picture Into the Breach, Fire Emblem and Paper Mario have a threesome with XCOM sitting next to the bed with a camera.” I don’t want to imagine that. Exophobia is a “retro FPS Metroidvania”. Yes, please. And oh, just look at those chunky pixels! This one comes on both consoles and PC, all but the PS5 as it stands. Oh and there is a demo!

Meanwhile, Fuzz Force: Spook Squad is another deck builder, this time in a “creepy board game world”. You roll the dice with what looks like in-game physics, and it looks like total chaos. It’s out of Early Access next week!
Skeleton crew is a 2D platform game (so no deck building roguelite or tactical RPG!) that can be played either solo or in co-op mode with up to 4 players. The animated cutscene in the trailer below is just that best, and the in-game footage looks bloody fabulous.
And last but not least, tonight is the last chance im Chivalry 2 Open Beta, on both PC and consoles. It apparently ends tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET. The actual game will be released on June 8th for PC, Xboxes and PlayStations.
