Jason Statham stars in Guy Ritchie’s 2021 action thriller anger of man as “H,” a Los Angeles cash truck driver whose mysterious past comes under scrutiny by his employers after he foils an attempted robbery of his truck with reckless use of force. From our play on how it governs,
Like the similarly outstanding LA heist thriller Den of Thieves and LA crime thriller classics like heat, anger of man utilizes the unique geography of sprawling Los Angeles to great effect, particularly in the first few vehicle-centric action sequences that take place on the streets. (One of the early action beats is punctuated by towering palm trees and a crystal clear blue sky.) The film is packed with aerial views of the city, showing criss-crossing highways and LA city lights glowing in the night. Slick editing by James Herbert, a longtime Ritchie collaborator, and a heartbreaking score by Christopher Benstead (one of the Oscar winners). heaviness Soundteam) augment the already stellar action sequences, culminating in a climactic Black Friday heist attempt that delivers the 90+ minutes of suspense that precedes it.
