Sony is starting to ramp up celebrations for the upcoming 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand, and new images posted by the company appear to include an icon of a console that looks very similar to the one allegedly leaked PS5Pro
The original PlayStation console launched in Japan in December 1994, so technically the 30th anniversary isn’t for a few months. But Sony isn’t waiting until December to celebrate its big 30th birthday. On September 5, the company released some announcements and plans
Check it out below. The left image is from the blog post, the right image is from Instagram.
Both images show a PS5 console with three lines above it. This fits perfectly with a report from last month about the still unconfirmed PS5 Pro, which claims that the console will feature three black lines on the front and that Sony plans to officially announce the powerful new product “in the coming weeks.”
The edge Reports that all PS5 games released after September 16th will PS5Prowhich suggests that it will be announced soon.
So is this banner image a joke with which Sony is teasing its most die-hard fans with the first confirmed announcement of a PS5 Pro? This is what it looks like on Instagram, with Sony releases the banner with the Easter Egg and the caption “Your first look 👀”. It’s also possible that this is a major mistake, but considering how many people had to look at and approve these images and that they were online for hours, I’m leaning towards this being more of a teaser and not a mistake.
Now we just have to wait for Sony to actually officially announce the PS5 Pro. Rumor has it that it will launch later this year.
