Apparently an animated Twilight TV series is in the works – but there’s an unexpected twist.
Netflix announced on Wednesday
that it works to adapt
Midnight Sunthe Twilight novel from the perspective of vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen, played in the live-action film series by Robert Pattinson. This book, in which Edward describes his view of his romance with human lover Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart in the films), is a particularly notorious part of the Twilight story: the first 12 chapters of the manuscript were leaked online in 2008 before publication, and the author Stephenie Meyer was
so upset about the experience
that she posted these chapters online herself and declared that she would not finish the book. She eventually changed her mind, and the actual official
Midnight Sun Novel was published in 2020.
In the meantime, she also wrote and published Life and Death: Twilight reinterpreted,
a gender-swapped version of
dusk. Where is
The Cartoon series, Netflix?
Meyer is set to serve as an executive producer on the project. Sinead Daly (Tell me lies) will produce the series and write the script. There is no further information on the cast, release date, or the studio that will be chosen to produce the animation. But one thing is of utmost importance: the animated Edward must really shine.
