Pokémon is about catching them all Pokémon Go That means catching every variant, including rare shiny versions of Pokémon. Every Tuesday in Pokémon GoA specific Pokémon will appear more frequently during Spotlight Hour, which runs from 6:00 p.m. to 6:59 p.m. local time. Spotlight Hour is your chance to shop for candy, a chance for high CP Pokémon, and, if you’re lucky, a shiny Pokémon.
On Tuesday, May 25th, Marill will be in the spotlight and players will earn twice as much stardust for catching Pokémon.
And yes, Marill can be shiny Pokémon Go.
Are the gloss rates increased during spotlight hour?
Shine rates don’t seem to increase during Spotlight hours based on data collected from the Pokémon community The Silph Road. However, the sheer number of Pokémon that appear during the hour-long weekly event gives you an improved chance of clicking on a random shine. The more Pokémon you click, the more opportunities you have to catch a shiny Pokémon.
What can I do to attract more shiny Pokémon?
I’m afraid not much. It seems like a coincidence. The catch rates for shiny Pokémon are set by the developer Niantic and are usually only increased for special events such as Community Days or Safari Zones or Legendary Raids. There are no consumables that increase the Shiny Pokémon rate.
Where can I find a list of the available Shiny Pokémon?
LeekDuck holds a list of the Shiny Pokémon currently available. It’s a helpful visual guide that shows what all of the Shiny Pokémon in existence look like.
