Bethesda itself has stated that this new content pack adds up to 30 hours of gameplay to its massive RPG saga. We can see that they are not on the wrong track (they can even fall short), since one of the things that surprised us the most is the endless number of missions, adventures, objects and actions offered to the player will.
As the name suggests, this expansion takes us to the origins, cultures and traits of the Breton race in their hometown: the High Isle of the Systres archipelago. The diehard fans of the games in The Elder Scrolls series will have recognized that this is an entirely new location and that there was nothing else to discover from the previous games. With this, Bethesda aims to clean up the slate by freshening up its massive role-playing game and seeking the approval of its veteran players while opening the door to new recruits. As if that wasn’t enough, the decision has also been made to fully translate the expansion’s texts into Spanish, making it easier for Spanish-speaking players to immerse themselves.
High Isle is an island enclave far removed from the turbulent and troubled mainland of Tamriel. In it the Breton nobles and merchants forged a prosperous and peaceful society; but therefore not armored on the outside. Life on the island will change drastically at the very moment our steps take us there.

As soon as we disembark and set foot on the island, a character will ask us for our help, thus beginning the main storyline that will take us through the expansion. This mission is designed so that on the one hand we immerse ourselves in a deep and mysterious story, on the other hand will force us to go to all corners the new scene. Along the way we have the opportunity to start new subplots (and we tell you from experience that there are many!), which in turn will reveal the new treasures and objects of the expansion on the one hand and the new villains and enemies for others. In a very short time we will realize that what seemed like an eternal mission will shape the future not only of High Island, but of all of Tamriel in our choices. As part of this adventure, we’ll have the opportunity to meet and recruit two new companions (Isobel and Ember) through their own subplots, as well as help unravel the mystery of the volcanic vents that have opened throughout the archipelago and the entire archipelago endanger area.

It’s honestly a delight to discover Isla Alta through its missions, not only for the graphic beauty of the medieval landscapes, but also for the characters and environments that Bethesda put considerable effort into building. A very good point is this living sense of the world around you that can be seen in the small details around you, like walking through a forest and seeing bears scratching their backs in the trees. Cities also have a lot of emerging NPC interactions such as fights between neighbors, husbands taking a drunk wife from a party, etc. As I mentioned in my first impressions, it shows that Bethesda gets it, through these details a lot bring in humor.
And when dungeon crawling or mysteries aren’t enough, Bethesda takes advantage of this new expansion to bring players a brand new mini-game in the form of cards tribute stories. Through a few simple rules and above all a tutorial integrated as another mission of the expansion, we will quickly learn this curious game. The publisher has made it clear that with Tribute Stories they want to create a playful addition within the Elder Scrolls universe, and for that they have made it clear that it will not be ruled by micropayments of any kind. The new deck customization cards can only be acquired through in-game quests or by speaking to the residents of the High Isle. In addition, an internal competition system will be created between players, whose rewards will be items from the expansion itself.
