So the Steam Next Fest is currently underway. It’s this week-long digital celebration of upcoming PC games where you can check out tons of demos from FPS RPGs to casual atmospheric adventures. Developer changed Orbit Studios demise-how Selaco is one of the available demos and jokingly received a mod from Fellow demise-similar to FPS maker Metacorp to change the color of the blood effects from the default pinks and purples to the sticky white of semen, all due to fan complaints.
Selaco is a retro-style first-person shooter based on a 3D accelerated system demise Source port called SDK GZDoom. Inspired by Monolith Productions psychological horror FPS FEAR and id software shooters such as quake, the game features highly destructible environments and extremely gory gameplay. A Demo is available nowwith a full release expected by 2255. This sussy launch window speaks to the studio’s humor and possibly pokes fun at impossible-to-hit schedules.

While Altered Orbit might be pretty funny, developer Metacorp’s humor is now taking center stage. Metacorp, the studio behind GZDoom-based Cyberpunk FPS Beyond the sunsetcheekily scoffed at those who complained about the color Selaco‘s blood in the game, which changes depending on the opponent you encounter. Sometimes it’s pink. Other times it’s purple.
It will be red blood
Still, people didn’t want to see pink or purple blood Lore reasons for the color that Altered Orbit briefly outlined in February. It looks like “pepto bizmall” or “someone spilled jelly on my screen,” according to the statement two separate comments on a 9.4 Selaco YouTube video.

These complaints apparently inspired Metacorp to make a joke about releasing a mod for Selaco‘s blood effects. Although it doesn’t appear to be available for public download right now, it’s called “Selacoom” and changes the blood color from the default pink and purple to Cum White. I think guns are getting awesome too.
Some were lewdly excited about the fake Selacoom mod. A user simply said “skeet”, while Other did some silly ejaculation jokes. Still, there was one person who “really wished” the blood was red and not white. So the Beyond the sunset developer supplied and has released a current Red Blood Effects Mod to the Selaco while Altered Orbit works on the official color palette. Unlike the sperm mod, you can actually download and use this one.
When contacted via Discord DMs, the Metacorp developer who created the “Selacoom” mod shared my box the Selaco‘s Author and lead developer noted some “recurring comments” on various YouTube videos related to the game in May. Though it was “a bit of an accident,” he said the inspiration for the semen mod came from some random twitch chatter.
“Originally I was planning to make a Red Blood mod, so I created a Photoshop action for bulk processing Selaco‘s sprites and convert the neon pink color to a crimson color,” the developer explained. “But there were some inconsistencies with the color indices for Selaco‘s sprites, so they were rendered in shades of gray instead of red. I did this around the same time as my friend [and Twitch streamer] DumpstermanTTV live stream was Selaco, and he mentioned blood color in the stream, and one of the people in the chat humorously suggested that it looked like semen. Obviously, clashing with a bunch of white blood spirits and being inspired by a twitch stream made me think this would be really funny.”
my box contacted Altered Orbit for comment.
Unclear when Selaco will fully release and whether it will appear on consoles. For now, you can try it out during the Steam Next Fest, which runs until June 20th.
As for the Metacorp developer, he said he wouldn’t mind if someone made a similar awesome mod for Beyond the sunset.
“I’m glad my video made people laugh,” said the developer. “If someone wants to do a ‘Beyond Cumset’, we won’t complain.” Yeah, I wouldn’t either.
