My Academic HeroS the weather surge of one of the most bizarre manga and anime series around has gifted fans not only good continuous flow, but now two more movies, the latter will finally make its Western debut this week. To know more, I put the category in the UA English English category and it is excellent.
What does Growth of Heroes stand out without doubling the progressive anime and its movie-starter for 2018 & # 39; s My Hero of the Study: Two Heroes-If, instead of being set between showtimes, it is set to an unspecified, future location in the second timeline of the animated series and Kohei Horikoshi's surprise superhero manga.
For fans, that actually means Deku, Bakugo, Sodoroki, Uraraka and all the Class 1-A courses that appear in Growth of Heroes ,, of course, more than that. They are more intelligent, less confident in their own power (or Quirks, as they are known My heroThe world & # 39 ;, but they also have the power to work as a team. They will have to, given that they are located on a remote island of Nabu Island, operating as an independent agency of a centralized community where Pro Heroes (and their international partners) are few and far between. Yes, Nabu is besieged by a mysterious, unstoppable new villain named Nine (portrayed by Johnny Yong Bosch in the drama), forcing members Stage 1-A to climb and save the day by themselves.
To learn more about what fans can expect, what it was like to get into unusual versions of their heroic genre, and what Growth of Heroes brings to My Academic Hero The atmosphere, i9 recently spoke with other voices behind the finest Class 1-A & # 39; s – Clifford Chapin (Katsuki Bakugo), Justin Briner (Izuku “Deku” Midoriya), David Matranga (Shoto Todoroki), Luci Christian (Ochaco Uraraka) and Kyle Phillips (Denny Kaminari) —and him Growth of Heroes newcomers Dani Chamber and Maxey Whitehead, who play two of Deku's siblings and a gang that meets on Nabu Island, Mahoro and Katsuma. Check out our full interview below. And Ultra!
io9: He comes out from behind Two Heroes
Luci Christian: It was incredibly fun, especially as we started and went on to film the movie to see how many Class 1-A heroes learned their skills. I mean, there was something happening in the movie that I hadn't seen in the series but I didn't know it was going to happen, and that was exciting. I had more "What?!" times. That pleased Ocacho – he had a certain power that I didn't know he still had, and that was really impressive, and I enjoyed that.
Clifford Chapin: Well, this movie is an exciting story, because it's like, in the future of what we've been doing. So people who come in and watch the anime will be a little surprised by the small improvements made by some of their favorite actors now. I think being able to visit that in every character is great.
David Matranga: Overall it was just a new level of confidence. Most of the characters even come to their core – I actually felt like no one was left in their power and that was filling and cool. And to get there in the series, we'll go on this journey.
Io9: Clifford, Justin, is clearly focused on Izuku and Bakugo & # 39; s power together Growth of Heroes, and everything they've gone through together shows. How are your heads like going into a film?
Chapin: I'm really excited about it because this is the kind of first impression we've received of how Izuku and Bakugo have grown, since their biggest impact at the end of season three. Bakugo has been set aside for season four, so we don't want to see him interact with everyone so much. So to hear this version of Bakugo not just chastise everyone and scream, and that always just gets rid of it, was a real thrill for me. It made me very happy to find this version of Bakugo and I intend to explore more in the series as he grows up to this level.
Justin Briner: As Cliff has mentioned, they have not had a meaningful opportunity to communicate or collaborate as they have been able to share the secret of One For All's power. Now, that they've gotten more mature, more time at work, I think it's really cool to see how they work naturally as a man when they should. You know, after all they've done they know each other better than anyone else so nice – that kind of feeling can only happen under those circumstances and I think it's really amazing.
Io9: Dan and Maxey, you come My hero for the first time with a Growth of Heroes and Mahoro and Katsuma. How was that for you?
Maxey Whitehead: It was amazing. It's always a good thing to come from shows with so much history and chemistry already established with all the characters, because you find that you just keep going and playing. And isn't that the same question you should ask yourself, to make sure the foundation is visible? So it was nice to be able to just take Katsuma and her little make-up, and not worry too much about the big showmanship obligations.
Dani Chambers: It is really a great job to be part of this wonderful world and ride this project, with all these wonderful people. And it's really fun to tell these different stories about how they grow and mature into heroes and heroes in their lives. Given Mahoro's relationship with Kastuma, I don't think there is any part of this wonderful country Maxey and we didn't do it together – but it's funny and silly.
Io9: The first movie was a Deku-centric tale, though Growth of Heroes sounds like a celebration of how Class 1-A can work together as a unit – how was it for all of you that those moments shone together?
Christian: I really like that about this movie. I felt like, in the first business, even if Ochaco had something difficult going on, in the end, he became the person waiting for these guys? Also Growth of Heroes, he he does not wait. No one does! They are very confident and you are right, everyone gets a chance to show what they can do. And I like that because I think it's one of the real things about this that shows people coming in that everyone has a cool Qwheels – even small ones, there is space for you all. Everything needs and deserves all the time, and respect, and effort, and the more we get to see that, the more I think it's a kind of goodwill for fans. And it reinforces the idea that your own great power, but combined with everyone else, becomes such a force that it is really hard to overcome.
Kyle Philips: It's always a good day when I make a Kaminari word for the derp. And I have to do that a few times in this movie. For me, a great experience!
Classes: I wonder what Luci is saying, there is this great theme with all these actors, who need to be a member and to be part of the team. And there has been that since its inception My hero, you know, they train themselves and they train their Qyou, but the idea mentioned is how to use your Qyou can stay with your team or any other respected hero. That will be a solid approach. And everyone had their own challenges in doing that. It's a moment that Theodoroki is lonely … keeps himself on the go, for a variety of different reasons. But yes, it's nice to see them hanging left and express themselves to them and make it real. And I think it's been waiting for that to happen. So, that's itomething I look forward to in the series and after this.
Io9: You've all grown up as heroes and one people during the show, but they are one of the most appealing Growth of Heroes to be set somewhere My heroThe timeline passes where we are in the anime. As actors, how was it to find this future show where your characters would end up?
Chapin: To me, it was a great way forward, because we never heard what Bakugo was like after the war after Deku. So it was really nice to move on and have the quiet, far-fetched peace of Bakugo like, actually he knows all the names of his classmates now. Back to his favorite series, "I don't know your words, but I know about your Qme. He just doesn't care about the other person. But now you say everyone's names! You know everyone and it shows that you are coming, or at least, close to everyone. So that was fun and satisfying to express that. Then we return to the series, rounding out the part where Bakugo shows his way back into season four, doing those remedial lessons… that was really fun. Because he was just getting into that (in the future). He wasn't so sad, but he was going to come out pretty quick. So, it was really exciting to see that happen. It was an exciting and really challenging challenge for me to navigate.
Classes: I think Bakugo and Deku need more Torodoki in their lives. So, I want 3 Musketeers! I'm looking forward to that. But listen, we're going into the future (in the middle.) Growth of Heroes), and then we came back to this class learning how to communicate … it was a challenge. It was fun to be sure what was in the movie and then after it was like & # 39; Hhhhh, how do we do this? & # 39; We've been kind to collaborate, but now we can fully work together? It was a challenge. Honestly, to tell you the truth, I felt more comfortable with Theodoroki who didn't trust himself more than a full-fledged hero. And I don't know what it means now!
Kyle Phillips: Hey, but the three Musketeers for this show could be Kirishima, Bakugo and Kaminari! (laughs)
My Educational Hero: Growing Heroes premieres limited to both featured and titled February 26. Stay tuned for i9 to review the movie later this week!
