“Terrifier 3” is already a huge success at the box office, surpassing “Joker 2.”

The latest Terrifier film grossed just over $18 million at the box office in its debut weekend, landing comfortably at No. 1. That kind of success is impressive for any indie film, let alone one that stands out for its Outlandish gore is known – so bloodthirsty that the film was released without an age rating. With a budget of just $2 million, the film has already established itself as a major financial success and is a clear sign to the studios of how strong the horror genre can be at the box office.

The Terrifier franchise started out as a low-budget gorefest in 2016 with the original entry, but it rocketed to the top of the horror cult heap in 2022 with the release of Horror 2

which grossed over $15 million at the box office during its long and surprising theatrical run, on a modest budget. Despite all this success, franchise creator and director Damien Leone only received modest offers from studios for the franchise and therefore decided to retain the rights to the films before the third film itself – a decision that clearly paid off.

Although there is no official word yet on another Terrifier sequel, horror 3is the status of an early box office hit and the possibility that it could run in theaters for just as long Horror 2seem to indicate that Art the Clown will hold out for at least a few more bloody kills.
