Manufacturer of Super 2 it received its massive 3.0 update today, adding a host of new features, characters, and a new world-class mode. There are a ton of great things to play with. But as a final update, it leaves a lot to the table.
First of all the big things: version 3.0 adds Super Worlds. You can now take all these courses you've built and put them together on a big trip. Super Worlds can only be built using the Super Mario World great, but they do a pretty good job of adding the SNES maps feel to smaller maps. And they can be built with lessons from any of the other styles of the game. Each Super World can have eight sub-worlds, and each sub-world can have six courses. It means The Maker of Mario Creators can now make their own mini-Mario games.
In each world you can choose between one of eight different terrain, from earth or sky to volcano or space. You can continue customizing each of the 28 tiles on the world map to include things like rivers, mountains, green pipes, and Toad house mini-games. You can also touch the empty squares to add decorative details such as smiling hills on bucolic earth or dinosaur bones in a remote area. There are some frustrating issues, however. You can set the number of lives that players start, but nothing happens when they die: No tests and no progress is lost. Players are not the management players after they hit the course, either. Because of this, world studies feel like individual obstacles and are different than being part of a larger challenge. You can only upload one Super World at a time, a limit that is understandable and also means that when you finally find one you like and work on, it may not be there when you finally return.
