When MultiVersus After a nearly year-long hiatus, the game is relaunching with a redesign later this month and will feature a new PvE mode called Rifts, where players can take on tutorials, challenges and story-based missions. In a new video breaking down Rifts, we see what kind of mini-games and huge boss fights – and a few other oddities – players can expect.
Rifts, explains Scooby-Doo’s Velma, consist of chapters divided into nodes that offer players different battles and challenges. Each node has its own mutators to keep things interesting (and occasionally very strange, based on the footage above), and players can earn rewards by completing these nodes.
Warner Bros. and developer Player First Games are pitching Rifts as a way for players to “learn mechanics, test characters, and upgrade abilities” without having to wade into the dangerous waters of Rifts MultiVersus‘ Online competitive game. And it sounds like rifts will continue to evolve and expand over time.
MultiVersus will be released on May 28th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series There will also be new characters; in addition to the recently announced Joker, MultiVersusA new video introduces two more, as yet unannounced, additions to the roster – one of these slots could be the popular cartoon trio The Powerpuff Girls.
