Some Halo infinity Players are frustrated that they wasted useful XP boosters by activating them just before server failures took the Xbox shooter offline and now it sounds like 343 Industries won’t refund players for wasted boosts.
earlier this month, Halo infinity Players were unable to play the game for a little over an hour. No big deal. Online games fail, it happens. And the outage was fixed in less than two hours. However, some players used double XP boosters that night before the servers went down, and since these temporary boosters timer continuously expire even when not playing, many players wasted some of these useful consumables.
As discovered by PCGN over on Reddit, one gloriole The player contacted the developer about the wasted booster and Got a message from the studio
“We thank you for your patience in this matter. While we are unable to provide or replace the XP boosts you lost during the server outage, we would like to inform you that access to the Halo Infinite servers has now been restored. If you’re still having trouble getting into games, please restart the game and try again.”
To think how angry and toxic that is gloriole
This also sparked the old debate about how the boosters work Halo infinity. Many, myself included, find it odd that the boosters count down the moment you activate them, even if you’re stuck in a lobby looking for a match, or if the servers are down for an extended period of time. It’s very possible that half or more of your booster’s time is wasted waiting for matches. It also means I rarely use them because I never know if I’ll be there all the time or if something will pull me away.
Many players would like 343 to change how boosters work so that they only count down when actually loading into a match. Seems fair to me.
As for wasted boosters, it seems unlikely that 343 can individually replace every booster that was wasted on each specific player. A better option would probably be to just toss a few to everyone who signs up during the week.
Meanwhile, some good news from 343: It will start letting players earn credits in Season 2 from Halo infinity. Currently you can only buy Credits, the main currency used in the game’s cosmetics shop. And recently 343 lowered prices in this store after sustained feedback from players.
