PlayStation Plus free games for September 2022 are currently available for subscribers to claim, regardless of what level they signed up for. The first Tuesday of every month is an exciting day for PlayStation Plus subscribers, as it means there’s a new batch of free games to add to your collection. This is the case for Tuesday, September 6, and PS Plus subscribers have until October 3 to claim the latest free games.
PS Plus free games for September 2022 include three titles, with subscribers able to claim two PS4 games and one PS5 game: Need for Speed Heat, Granblue Fantasy Versus, and TOEM. The PS4 games in the lineup are Need for Speed Heat and GranBlue Fantasy Versus, while the PS5 offering is TOEM. Of course, since PlayStation 5 is backwards compatible with PS4, all three games are available to PS5 owners.
For those unfamiliar with gaming, Need for Speed Heat is an award-winning racing game that originally released in 2019, though it garnered mostly mixed reviews from critics. It’s the latest installment in EA’s long-running Need for Speed franchise, though a new game is confirmed to be in development. While fans wait to learn more about the new Need for Speed game, they can try out Need for Speed Heat with their PS Plus subscription to help pass the time.

Those outside of Japan may be more familiar with the Granblue Fantasy anime, which received an English dub.
And finally, TOEM is an indie title that was originally released in 2021. TOEM is a photography game that garnered mostly positive reviews at the time of its original release, with praise for its music, art style, and unique premise. TOEM can be completed in just a few hours, so it’s much smaller in scale than the other free PS Plus games for September 2022, but it should still be a good time while it lasts.
GranBlue Fantasy Versus, Need for Speed Heat, and TOEM are the free PS Plus games for the PS Plus Essential tier for September 2022, but those who signed up for the more expensive PS Plus Premium tier have even more to look forward to this month. In fact, a whopping 17 games are coming to PS Plus Premium on September 20, including the critically acclaimed Deathloop.
