Milestone ha published a new trailer from Hot Wheels Unleashed on their official YouTube channel. Mattel’s title will focus, of course, on car racing and will feature more than 60 different models and a few tracks that we can enjoy alone, on a split screen with one more person and in online games with up to 12 players.
So far we have only seen some images and today we saw the first gameplay trailer on a circuit called “Skatepark”. In this trailer we saw that cars make impossible turns and use the speed at which they come to evade the effect of gravity when they are face down. For now we see that they are mainly traditional racing, there are turbo points but no special powers in the style of Mario Kart.
Dream tracks
Of course the “Skatepark” reminds us of the tracks that are sold in toy form, in fact, the whole trailer gives the feeling that the cars are small and toy. This is clearly intended to simulate that they are the same cars that many played with as children. The Hot Wheels brand hasn’t had a few sets, but this one looks like the first to come close to a major production.
Milestone revealed in Gematsu that the cars from this trailer are as follows: Bad to the Blade, Hot Wheels High, Veloci-Racer, Solid Muscle, Tur-Bone Charged, Roller Toaster, and the Time Attaxi. Also, we now know that in addition to the traditional races there will be a level editor, it would be a great plus if we could use the elements of the Mattel toy tracks, but the study did not reveal if this will be possible.
In this way, Hot Wheels Unleashed will come from Milestone, an Italian studio known for its racing titles such as MotoGP, MotoXGP and Ride. If we take into account that the title will be released on all platforms, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Switch and PC, we can imagine that the bet is quite ambitious. It will be available on September 30.
