All new monsters from Monster Hunter Wilds
These are all the new creatures we’ll be hunting when the game comes out in 2025.
Doshaguma
- Class: Fanged beast
- Habitat: Windward Plains
Doshaguma was revealed in the first trailer of Monster Hunter Wilds
Catacabra
- Class: Amphibious
- Habitat: Windward Plains
We have seen poor Chatacabra being beaten over and over again in The new game’s weapon trailersIts tongue is extremely sticky and it can be used to both catch the hunter and use the battlefield to its advantage.
Balahara
- Class: Amphibious
- Habitat: Windward Plains
Although we saw them briefly in the first trailer for the game, the Balahara were the undisputed stars of the second advance. Like the Doshaguma, they attack in packs and we must separate the leader in order to defeat it. They use their elongated bodies to “swim” through the sand and wrap themselves around their enemies to eliminate them. Although they are mobile, they can wait for prey under their sand traps.
Rey Dau
- Class: Flying Wyvern
- Habitat: Windward Plains
King Dau is the apex predator of the Windward Plains, the first region inhabited by new monsters of Monster Hunter Wilds. We saw it briefly in the second trailer, but it was in the third advance —revealed at Gamescom 2024— when he was officially introduced. He uses the storms that sweep through the region to attack and can channel his power through his body to fire it at his prey using his horns.
Don’t be fooled
- Class: Temnoceran
- Habitat: Scarlet Forest
The first of the Scarlet Forest region’s monsters is a giant spider with a name that equates it to a ‘dancer’. It uses red silk to mark its territory and can open its thorax to reveal rose-like fur.
Old monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom has not officially revealed which monsters are returning from past games to this new installment. However, we can see Rathalos flying over the Barlovento Plains in the first trailer.
We’ll update this note when we have more information about the returning creatures.
