When Sony presented the renewal of PlayStation Plus, one of the main novelties, at least in the higher priced plans, was the possibility of enjoying streaming games. The only drawback, yes, is that PS5 titles are not included yet. The reason is very simple: they require a more complex technical infrastructure than previous generation consoles. However, it seems that Sony is getting closer to offering PS5 game streaming to PlayStation Plus premium subscribers.
through the PlayStation Blogthe company reported that It is already testing streaming PS5 games. Once this long-awaited feature is available, gamers will be able to enjoy select titles without the need to download them, thereby saving storage space on the console. We must remember that the PlayStation 5 has only about 660 GB free.
“We are currently testing PS5 game streaming in the cloud; this includes PS5 titles from the PlayStation Plus game catalog, game demos, as well as compatible digital PS5 titles that gamers own. When we launch this feature, streaming Cloud Gaming for compatible PS5 titles will be available to use directly on your console. Th at means as a Premium member, it will be easier to access your favorite games without downloading them to your PS5,” Sony says.
However, it is important to consider that, initially, not all PS5 games will support cloud gaming. At the moment, Sony has not revealed the compatibility list, but they promise that they will add more titles over time.
“We think it’s important for Premium subscribers to be able to enjoy as many games as possible via cloud streaming. As more games continue to be released, we hope to add the cloud streaming option for PS5 titles, in addition to from PS3, PS4 and the classics that are already available for Premium members to play via streaming.”

Sony and its efforts in Cloud Gaming
To some extent, this information should not surprise us at all. Firstly, because it was essential that Sony stepped on the accelerator to offer PS5 game streaming on PlayStation Plus, as this clearly makes the service more attractive.
On the other hand, during May, Jim Ryan, director of Sony Interactive Entertainment, commented that would redouble efforts to grow in the Cloud Gaming sector. Curiously, at that time they also presented the Project Q, a kind of portable console to enjoy streaming games locally. That is, the PS5 is in charge of the processing, not Sony’s servers (as will happen with PS5 games streaming through PlayStation Plus).
“We see that in gaming habits, mobility is an increasingly important trend, and the cloud will be instrumental in enabling us, or even anyone else, to take advantage of that trend,” said Jim Ryan.
So, we will have to be attentive to the next movements of Sony in this regard. We do not rule out that there is a Test phase for certain players…
