That went quickly: Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise is selling like hotcakes! In some Asian countries, the title is sold out after a few days.
Capcom has made a real rocket launch with the Switch-exclusive Monster Hunter Rise. Since the monster hunt was published last Friday, the game has already been delivered four million times. For comparison: Monster Hunter World had sold five million copies at the time, but was released for two platforms with the PS4 and Xbox One.
We speak of “delivered” because Capcom’s numbers are made up of both digital and physical copies of the game. The latter were initially delivered to retailers and are now waiting to be bought by hard-working monster hunters. A big difference to the later sales figures should not be expected, because at least in Asia reports were made that the title was already sold out in some stores.
Capcom is currently working on an update 2.0 for Monster Hunter Rise that will expand the existing creature lineup in April. A Windows version is also already in the making, but fans will have to wait until next year for it.
