Nostalgics among you who are thirsting for new old game fodder can look forward to the end of March: Nintendo is providing three supplies for Switch Online.
Recently, subscribers to the more expensive Switch Online level were given new titles from the N64 and SEGA Genesis eras, but now everyone else is getting game material again. The regular tier of the online service will receive more additions from the NES and SNES era.
Punctually for today, March 31, Nintendo has three classics on the switch. Probably the most prominent representative is Earthworm Jim 2, which was originally released in 1995 for the Super NES. The little worm in a super suit experiences another intergalactic platformer adventure in this sequel, which also entices with a new arsenal of weapons and new moves.
This is followed by another sequel, namely Dig Dug II. The third retro classic in the group is Mappy Land, released in 1988. This is a classic side-scrolling platformer in which you control the eponymous mouse, Mappy, and must acquire collectible items and avoid enemies.
All three titles can be found in the SNES and NES game libraries on console via Switch Online; a trailer with further impressions from the games can be found attached.
