As much as the CD Projekt Red developers have improved, Cyberpunk 2077 was a moderate disaster when it was released. In the meantime, however, the curve has been gotten, which the fans really appreciated. The role-playing game was able to sell masses of units last year.
Even though Cyberpunk 2077 made history when it was released in 2020, the developers at CD Projekt Red would have preferred less attention. Or at least for other reasons. Because no game previously managed to be thrown out of the PlayStation Store because of the disastrous technical condition.

In the meantime, however, improvements have been made. The role-playing game can be purchased again on Sony consoles and is actually in a usable condition. Apparently, the continued support missed the title a second spring, because CD Projekt Red made tons of money with Cyberpunk 2077 in 2022.
According to a financial report from the studio, the game starring Keanu Reeves sold significantly more than in the previous year. A whopping 18 percent more units than in 2021 could be brought to men and women.
The search for reasons leads to several conjectures. First of all, the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners should be mentioned, which was received immensely positively. He even won the title of Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. But the finally released patch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S should also play its part.
With Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red is also working on a major expansion that will bring Idris Elba as a big star. However, this only appears on PC and the Nextgen consoles. In June we will definitely get fresh information about the DLC.
