In the 1990s, Marvel was in dire financial shape, prompting the publisher to sell the rights to its characters to several major Hollywood studios. 20th Century Fox got their hands on the X-Men in the process Sony hit the jackpot with Spider-Man. Since then we have had the rights to three series of films about the superhero, it all culminated in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which brought together the three actors who played Peter Parker on screen. But the Japanese giant doesn’t stop there with the Spider Man.
In addition to using the character to deliver console exclusives such as Marvel’s Spider-Man and the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Sony also offers films about the superhero’s antagonists for a couple of years. After two feature films about Venom and one about Morbius, it’s Kraven’s turn to have his own adventure.
Kraven the Hunter, a cult enemy of Spider-Man
On the occasion of CinemaCon, a convention that, as the name suggests, is dedicated to films, the participants were able to watch them the first images of the feature film dedicated to the most famous hunter in the Marvel Universe
In the short sequence revealed to the cinema owners, we discover Kraven attacking a caravan of poachers by killing the six members that make it up. The antagonist doesn’t hesitate to bite the skin of the one between them and then spit it at the camera, which shows The film is R-rated in the United States. This means that minors under the age of 17 cannot see it unaccompanied by an adult. From the viewer’s point of view, we can expect a violent film in which the brutality was not censored. The second highlight of this short video is the presence of another cult antagonist of Spider-Man: the rhino. One thing’s for sure though, Spider-Man fans are in for a treat at the end of the year, with the Kraven movie slated for October, while Marvel’s Spider-Man is slated for a fall exclusive to PS5.
