One of the biggest surprises of the Game Awards 2023 was undoubtedly Marvel’s Blade. A game that is now expected by many people, especially superhero fans.
The highly anticipated game Marvel’s Blade, developed by Arkane Lyon, known for its successful titles such as Deathloop and Dishonored 2, is obviously not coming immediately. Despite a first trailer a few weeks ago, according to new information we still have to be patient. That’s the least we can say. We can learn that.
Marvel’s Blade, in a few years
So Marvel’s Blade may not be released until 2027. Although neither the platforms nor the release window have been announced, fans will apparently have to wait a few more years before they can discover this third-person action-adventure title. At least that’s what the always well-informed journalist Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb explains during the XboxEra podcast:
« They currently assume internally that the game will be available in stores and digitally in 2027. This is the target year for the release of this game. » This would make the release of Marvel’s Blade approximately six years after the release of Deathloop in September 2021. However, as Grubb points out, 2027 would be the earliest possible date, and plans could still change, especially since development on the game has just begun. So that’s the best case scenario and we could be entitled to an even later game…
XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker expressed the possibility that Marvel’s Blade could be a cross-gen game, possibly releasing on the Xbox Series, but commented on the game’s Xbox exclusivity, but remains a possibility.
