Released almost exactly a year ago, Dead Island 2 makes you want to go back to HELL with a second expansion that seems to be ripping in more ways than one.
The new expansion of Dead Island 2 called SoLA offers us the opportunity to attend a music festival in Los Angeles. Particularly noteworthy is the trailer, which announces the color (blood red) and sets the tone (musical).
Dead Island 2 opens new concert in LA (and zombies)
Last November, Dead Island 2 welcomed its first expansion: House. This proved to be even more successful than an already solid base game, at least in terms of very exciting gameplay. This big DLC was about exploring a research center that has everything resembling a horror house. With SoLA, the game’s newly released second expansion, we return to the sunny skies of Los Angeles and head to a festival that Hellfest would not have denied.
This second major DLC for Dead Island 2 therefore allows us to get back to the semi-open world aspect of the base game. So we leave a claustrophobic and slightly scary atmosphere to rediscover the very crazy aspect of the franchise. Not content with pleasing our ears with a new story, SoLA also has no shortage of new content. Most notable are two new, particularly bloody zombie archetypes. On one side we have Whiplash, who hits us with his guts from a distance. On the other hand, we have the coagulant, which can decompose and return to its original form when you least expect it. And bon appetit, of course.
SoLA is already available for PC (via the Epic Games Store) and PlayStation/Xbox consoles for expansion pass holders or individually for 14.99 dollars. Note that after releasing on April 21, 2023, Dead Island 2’s temporary one-year exclusivity on PC will soon end and the game will finally arrive on Steam on April 22.
