The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim celebrates its tenth anniversary today with a concert, free upgrades and the Anniversary Edition.
11/11/2021 will mark the tenth anniversary of the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Bethesda is celebrating this special day with the community around the world. You reminisce, laugh at memes, and think back to the epic adventures of a decade.
The anniversary is also a great time to take a look at the new journeys and experiences awaiting players returning to the world of Skyrim.
No celebration without gifts! All current and future Skyrim Special Edition owners receive four creations for free, in which they can discover quests, put on equipment and yes, fish can also be caught.
Also, the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is the most comprehensive version of Skyrim available today. It contains the Skyrim Special Edition as well as all Creation Club content released to date, including additional quests, armor and even gameplay modes.
But that’s not all: All Special or Anniversary Edition players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S will receive a next-gen upgrade for the game. The upgrade is free and optimizes the game’s graphics, load times, and more.
Read below what you can expect as part of the Skyrim celebrations:
Skyrim Live in concert
Experience a once in a lifetime musical event as the London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices perform the sounds of Skyrim at the historic Alexandra Palace Theater. Switches to today at 8:00 p.m. CET on the official German Twitch channel from Bethesda and pay homage to the many anthems and memorable tunes of Skyrim as you celebrate those who made the game what it is today: the players.
Free creations for all Skyrim Special Edition owners
Current and future owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on any platform, including Xbox Game Pass subscribers, will get access to four free Creation Club items: Fishing, Rare Odds, Survival Mode, and even new quests with Saints and Seducers.
Saints & Seducers
This creation from 2019 takes players into a story that includes two quests (and of course various side quests). With additional armor sets, weapons, enemies and much more, Saints and Seducers deliver such a large amount of content that has rarely been packed into a single creation!
Rare curiosities
The Creation Rare Curiosities is part of Saints and Seducers and equips the Khajiit caravans with additional goods that come from all over Tamriel. As long as their coin pouch is ringing, these vendors can supply you with all kinds of useful items, including ingredients for making special potions, arrows, and poisons.
Survival mode
Do you want to immerse yourself in the untamed wilderness of Skyrim like never before? In Creation Survival Mode (first published in 2017), your Dragonborn must assert themselves against the elements of Skyrim in order to survive. In cold climates, players have to wear warm gear and seek protection in order not to freeze to death, but in addition to the usual threats such as annoying bandits or lurking dragons, they also have to manage their hunger and exhaustion. Fortunately, Skyrim has plenty of food to harvest (or loot), weather-appropriate armor, and even taverns to put your tired head down. If you are looking for a challenging way to experience Skyrim, we strongly recommend trying Survival Mode!
fishing
When it comes to getting food: Thanks to the brand new Angel Mode Creation, you can draw over 20 unique water inhabitants from the many rivers, lakes and oceans in the region. Prepare a meal from your catch, present it in your home as a trophy or let it swim in your aquarium – the choice is yours! Since there are many fishing spots in the most breathtaking and tranquil areas of Skyrim, you can certainly relax wonderfully while you tackle the quest series of this free creation.
