Gearbox CEO Confirms New Borderlands

Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Entertainment, confirmed via Twitter that a new set of Borderlands is in development.

Pitchford was frank with the dimes and the diretes. Contrary to what has been rumored, he stated that Gearbox will be the main developer of each future game of this saga

. To reject thus helping or jointly developing one of them, as had been said.

The rumor comes from speculation that the next game was going to be some sort of spin off

and that it would be quite different from what you would normally expect from the series. Likewise, it all started when it was announced a month ago that Gearbox had been acquired by Embracer Group. However, 2K games would continue to publish all future games of Borderlands.

I am told of rumors that Gearbox is “assisting” or “co-developing” another Borderlands game (or a new spinoff game). These rumors are NOT correct. Gearbox is the lead developer for all future games in the Borderlands franchise (or any games adjacent to Borderlands) without co-development.

Pitchford offers to work at Borderlands to anyone who is talented enough

Finally, in a second tweet, in a slightly more jovial tone, Pitchford suggested that Gearbox is already working on the next episode of the saga. And with him, he hopes to surprise and delight his fans. In addition, it offers the opportunity to work on the project to anyone with the necessary skills.
