The Pixel 8 Pro has been shown in detail in these first render images which leave no doubt about the design. The same news source shared another series which makes it clear that Google is going the way left by Samsung with its new Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Leaving aside the curvature of the Pixel 8 Pro
Curved-sided screens that began with the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge have been a standard for many flagships which were published in the following years. A way to innovate and thus present a more surprising facade and thus move away from these flatter iPhones.
The source of the images leaked just two days ago shared others in which Compare the Pixel 7 Pro to the Pixel 8 Pro. And there’s one detail that stands out from this comparison to show just how flat the screen will be in the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro.

And while the difference may be minimal, it’s that exact detail that helps prevent accidental side touches that cause an unpleasant experience time and time again. On another side there is another positive aspect
This flatter concept is clearly visible in the corners of the Pixel 7 Pro compared to the Pixel 8 Pro, so it looks like Google is going to put aside that 2.5D curved panel to focus on a flatter screen, also seen in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
If the corners of the Pixel 8 Pro show that flatter screenThis time they are also more curved to leave a less straight front in its corners and which will have to be adapted in the Android 14 software for the experience to be ideal.
With all of that on the table, it looks like the trend of side-curved screens is going to be ditched and opting for ones that are flatter. Samsung and Google are already the indicators of this change, we will now have to wait for the rest of the flagship manufacturers to see if they continue on their way.
