One detail that surprised us all on the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros is the notch. A design resource that many think is a great idea, while others think it doesn’t fit on a computer. For the latter already some apps start to appear to make the notch disappear new Macs.
A little change of color and you’re done
Thanks to the black color of the notch, blurring it within the same margin of the Mac’s screen, as well as adapting the menu bar to fit in, is relatively straightforward. The TopNotch app takes advantage of this, which we can use to tint the top of the screen black of our new Mac.
As can be seen in the image below, the difference is remarkable and the result of the tinted effect is quite interesting. With this resource, at the end of the day what we get is that the menu is almost visually positioned on the edge of the screen
Personally, I have to say, I’d rather see the notch in just one part of the screen than a large frame at the top. I understand, on the other hand, who does not prefer it that way. Lucky for everyone already ways to make our new Macs exactly to our liking are starting to appear.
In recent years since arriving with the iPhone X, the notch has become quite a polarizing element. With its arrival on Mac, it was to be expected that resources would appear via software to change the behavior of the operating system around the notch. It is one of the first apps to appear, but we will surely see more alternatives in the near future.
