Jade and Zerdy fans have earned heaven through patience, but the wait is always worth it: after appearing by surprise in November of last year, Ubisoft officially announces the 20th anniversary commemorative edition of Beyond Good & Evil. And the game turned 20 in 2023! All in all, good things take a long time to come and it is obvious that this cult classic has received absolutely exceptional treatment. A simple step through the body and paint shop? As you will see, there is a lot of love for the original and lots of extras.
The essential: Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition was born with the double purpose of offering a comprehensive and well-deserved update of the instant classic by Michel Ancel, the same creator of Rayman. In addition to celebrating two decades, it is also the perfect appetizer for its long-announced sequel, which, for all intents and purposes, will serve as a reboot. An essential adventure in its day, although with little commercial pull, and that Now it shines with new light.
Changes, new features and extras of a very special edition
This edition created by Virtuos and Ubisoft Montpellier gives a comprehensive review of all the sections of the game and this is noticeable at a glance: the graphic section, including the models of its characters, enemies and the setting or the appearance of the settings has been updated and adapted to the new systems. An enormous leap in quality that does not play in the same league as the recent Crash Bandicoot trilogy, but that does understand the preferences of current players by offering resolution at 4K and 60 fps.

Originally released on PS2 and not long after brought to PC, the first XBox and even GameCube, Beyond Good & Evil is a third-person action-adventure game in which we take the role of Jade, an intrepid photojournalist based on a remote maritime planet of Hillys who, with the camera on her chest and armed with a daï-jo cane, You will face a series of mysteries and threats of increasingly epic scale and, from time to time, puzzles and mini-games.
