No, Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse is not a new Ubisoft game with hyper-realistic graphics. It’s a new action flick based on a Tom Clancy novel. Recently, however, a rather curious experiment took place as a promotion for the film.
Four Youtubers were given the power to control a real person with their voice. Your goal was to guide the person through a warehouse so that it could free a hostage. No. Not a real one. All the people involved were actors. The result was a hilarious streaming event at times that blurred the lines between movie and game.
The entire event was broadcast by the participating Youtubers on their Twitch channels on April 28th and lasted about two and a half hours. You can still see it there. Were involved Justaminx, RTGame, CallMeKevin and Anna Chess. But there is also a short version:

How exactly did that work
For the event, Amazon rented an entire warehouse, hired actors and designed a kind of escape room. The various rooms in the hall were equipped with cameras that could also be switched through.
The focus of the four players was on their “character” Tom. His job was to sneak into the warehouse single-handedly and free a hostage. Only he couldn’t rely on his own intuition, but had to obey the orders of the streamers. And that is absolutely consistent.
Each content creator had the final say in a section. And occasionally the word was far from helpful. For example, Tom puts on the hats of fallen enemies twice, knocks an opponent with a muffin and after he had to carry an umbrella around for no reason, Tom couldn’t help but look at the camera desperately . Including an obscene gesture.
However, the streamers could not fail completely. If Tom got into the guards’ field of vision, the cameras were hidden, all actors went back to their positions and Tom could try again.

Which film was this about?
Without Remours is based on a novel by Tom Clancy from 1993. The film was released on April 30th, but not in theaters. In the summer, the rights for the publication went to Amazon Studios, which eventually aired the film on Prime Video.
The film revolves around the Navy SEAL John Kelly (Michael B. Jordan), who goes on a campaign of revenge after the murder of his wife and uncovered a conspiracy with the aim of embroiling the USA and Russia in a war.
