Hardly a week goes by without new leaks for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. In addition to a short clip that is supposed to show in-game scenes from MW 2, there is also a YouTuber who collects many gameplay changes in his video. In this article we clarify what has just leaked and what that could mean for the continuation of the Battle Royale.
Caution, leak: The following information should be treated with caution as it has not yet been officially confirmed.
Even before the current leaks, there was some unofficial information. We have summarized all the basic information for you in our CoD Warzone 2 Hub:
CoD Warzone 2
Should be released in 2023 and be a whole new game
What does the leaked gameplay show us?
Where does the information come from?
- TheMW2Ghost
- NerosCinema has a six minute video uploaded via Warzone 2, in which he addresses various leaks that he is said to have received from an insider.
- Tom Hendersona trusted industry insider, wants to confirm a lot of the alleged information about Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
I don’t want to beat about the bush, but much of it is true.
I assume there is some discrepancy as the source can’t remember exact details… But yeah, there seems to be a ton of leaks coming up.

Leaked clip reveals little information: A short in-game clip was also leaked on Twitter, which Henderson called real
designated. In the short video, however, you can only see how a player reloads his weapon and then examines it. The weapon and the equipment apparently confirm the modern setting.
However, the surroundings are not very informative, since you can only see a little lawn, a few trees and the edge of a steppe in the area. The video has since been removed for copyright infringement, which in turn speaks for the authenticity of the clip. According to Henderson, the material dates roughly to December 2021 and does not represent the current state of development.
Loadouts probably harder to get: Loadouts, which are a unique selling point of Warzone, will still exist, but players in Warzone 2 should have to complete so-called strongholds. Strongholds could be specific locations on the map where players encounter AI opponents and need to defuse a bomb, for example.
Armor plates require a bag: In Warzone 2 you should soon no longer be able to use the plates just like that. First you have to find a suitable bag on the map.
Limited Inventory: In the future, players should carry a backpack with them, which should only offer limited space for objects, sounds like Tarkov. Additional weapons can still be carried, but they take up a lot of space.
Other small changes said to be coming:
- The so-called pro-perks (perks that can be leveled up) should come back in Warzone 2 and thus also in Modern Warfare 2.
- A shooting range where you can try loadouts and weapons. Fans have been expressing this wish for a long time.
- Weapons should only get five instead of eight slots for attachments.
Slide-Canceling
shouldn’t exist anymore. This is a technique in which you can switch from sliding directly to the tactical sprint.

CoD MW2: Fans definitely don’t want these features
Old locations from Modern Warfare 2 will probably return in Warzone 2: As we already know from the current CoD Warzone, some of the old classics in Warzone 2 will also return in the new offshoot. Among others: Afgan, Terminal, Quarry and Highrise.
Warzone 2 and the new DMZ mode could get the same map: The leakers claim to have learned from various sources that the maps from both modes should be the same. The screenshots received from the last few months should confirm this. While could Verdansk find a way back into the game at a later time.
One of the leakers is said to have seen part of the Warzone 2 map and drew it by hand. Apart from the various icons, roads and a river, not much can be seen. However, the weapon symbol could be one of the strongholds mentioned:
Disclaimer: This is a remake based on the actual card image. Not the actual image itself. (Obviously)
