Only yesterday the multiplayer mode of Halo: Infinite surprisingly appeared and now publisher Riot Forge is pursuing a similar strategy. Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is available now – without much advance notice of a release date.
The solo role-playing game by developer Airship Syndicate has been announced since 2019, but apart from our preview, the project recently became suspiciously quiet. Now this resting phase is over, because the game is finished and is available for purchase on both the PC and the consoles.

Was ist Ruined King: A League of Legends Story?
Ruined King is one of the many projects that Riot Forge, the publishing arm of Riot Games, is pursuing in collaboration with other developers. With this, the company wants to open the huge universe of League of Legends to players who have not been able to use the MOBA until now – similar to the current Netflix series Arcane.
Ruined King is a whole classic single player role-playing game, which is based on the old JRPG school in the style of earlier Final Fantasy games. As a group of up to six heroes you will explore the gloomy Shadow Isles, compete in turn-based battles against various enemies, level up your heroes and even improve them with new equipment. You can find out more about this in our preview.
When will Ruined King be released?
You don’t have to wait anymore, because Ruined King: A League of Legends Story has been available since November 16, 2021.

What else is happening in League of Legends at the moment?
There’s a lot going on in League of Legends right now – especially outside of MOBA. Only recently, Arcane, the first animated series for League of Legends that tells its own story, started on Netflix. This is particularly practical, because the story is suitable even for MOBA-grumpy people, as we note in our review of the previous files:

In addition, Riot Forge is still working on other games that are placed within the fantasy universe. 2022 should still Conv/rgence and Song of Nunu appear, pulling champions Ekko and Nunu into the spotlight.
