Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian has opened a new studio in Warsaw, Poland. Why? Well, its reach is growing as it “accelerates” the development of “two very ambitious role-playing games” that we’re definitely not going to be too hyped about.
Yes, while Baldur’s Gate 4 won’t be coming from the developers of BG3, and the “massive RPG that will rule them all” as Swen Vincke calls it seems a long way off, Larian is growing. .

Announced via Twitter, the new studio is called Larian Studios Warsaw and, as you might expect, is based in the Polish capital. “Development has now begun on two very ambitious role-playing games,” the developers wrote, “and what better way to realize our ambitions than to grow the team and open a seventh studio in the heart of Poland’s buzzing gaming scene The vision!”
The “About Us” section of the new studio’s page on Larian’s website calls Poland “one of the world’s great development centers for role-playing games” (cough, The Witcher, cough), adding: ” Like its sister studios around the world, Larian Studios in Warsaw is committed to creating an environment where developers can flourish creatively and regain agency.”

“As the team ramps up development of its next game,” it continues, “we’re excited to meet talented programmers, RPG designers, writers and more who are native to Poland or interested in relocating .” So, that’s it. Assuming you do have some skills that you think might be useful to Swen and colleagues, please polish up your resume.
No, writing poetry about Kalach’s biceps or Gayle’s adorable eyes probably doesn’t count. Still, with this new studio now joining existing studios in Belgium, Europe, Ireland, the UK, Malaysia, and Canada, maybe one day Larian will be big enough to employ plenty of resident companions to enjoy.
If you want something more BG3-related, the Stardew Valley modding team is currently working on creating a town where you can relax with Astarion and other games.
