Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition has been in the pipeline for some time now and now everything points to the game being released very soon, possibly even today.
Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition, the new edition of the action-adventure classic, has been on the release lists for “early 2024” for some time now, and in fact, an early version of the game had even been accidentally leaked.
Now, however, everything points to the official release being imminent. One serious indication is that Ubisoft plans to release news about the game this evening, at 8 p.m. as part of the Limited Run Games Showcase. Limited Run Games is an American publisher that specializes in indies.
Another clue is that the original game Beyond Good & Evil has apparently now been removed from some stores at Ubisoft’s request. On Steam at least it says: “At the request of the publisher, Beyond Good and Evil is no longer listed on Steam and will no longer appear in searches.” The game is also no longer listed in the Xbox Store.
This could indicate that the game will soon be replaced by Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition, perhaps even parallel to today’s stream. Of course, we won’t know more until this evening and even if the game isn’t released today, it’s more than likely that Ubisoft will give a date.
However, the status of the successor Beyond Good & Evil 2, which seems to have been announced an eternity ago, is unlikely to be a topic of discussion today. The game has been in development hell at Ubisoft for years and is not making any progress, but is said to still be in the works.
