Fans of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are going all out to share the new logo on Twitter in hopes of securing a release date. However, what does it mean to “go all out”? Trigonometric functions. Too much for my liking.
First reported by folks at The Loadout, Valve recently updated the banner following rumors of a Counter-Strike sequel arose earlier this month. CS:GO Twitter Page Featuring a new logo. The logo appears to be in preparation for a revamped shooter title, which according to journalist Richard Lewis is “just around the corner” in an interview with VGC.
The new logo is very similar to CS:GO’s original logo, but with the “GO” part omitted. Instead of separating the letters “CS” and “GO” with an operator, we now only separate the letters “CS” and “GO” with the operator. Additionally, the text of the new logo is slightly slanted and has a blue background.
CS:GO gamers are undoubtedly excited about the new entry in the CS series, and this latest analysis of the logo proves it. Twitter user Gabe Follower retweeted the logo with some equations of his own; after a bit of trigonometry, Gabe found that the new logo was tilted at exactly 23 degrees…does that mean something?
What’s this @CSGO have an effect on people. The top angle of the new logo is exactly 23 degrees… pic.twitter.com/7nMgqg8eCe

On its own, probably not, but fans have found more evidence pointing to the number 23.
Valve just continued to tease its fans, mostly using gifs from the US version of The Office. On the face of it, this makes no sense, but again, fans noticed something very interesting during the investigation. The US version of The Office was released on March 24th. However, CS:GO’s version — cs_office — was actually released on March 23rd.
Combined with the new logo’s 23-degree slant, it’s easy for fans to conclude that we should expect something on March 23, 2023. Combine this with Richard Lewis’s comments about the tentative beta release date of March 1st, and we’ll likely know about the Counter Strike 2 beta tomorrow.
And that’s not even all the evidence. It’s also worth noting that CS:GO previously featured five CT operators in a March 18 Twitter banner. Interpreted as some sort of countdown, fans did the math: 18 (March 18) plus 5 (5 CT operators) equals 23. This also happens to be exactly three years since the release of Half-Life: Alyx in 2020. These coincidences are adding up, now.
if @csgo Banners went from five to four today, and the countdown will end on March 23rd. That would be exactly 3 years after the release of Half-Life: Alyx… pic.twitter.com/tld9cxtdrY

Needless to say, Valve seems to have left clues for fans, probably knowing that CS players will go to great lengths to find out. It might still go nowhere, but let’s face it, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before players see Counter-Strike 2.
Meanwhile, CS:GO players have been making up some great Source 2 memes.
