Most recently, CD Projekt RED had already confirmed that they would continue to work on an add-on for Cyberpunk 2077 and other game updates. On the occasion of the announcement of current business figures, this was now followed up.
Developer CD Projekt RED has presented its latest annual report and officially communicated all sorts of plans for the near and medium-term future. In addition, fresh sales figures were also confirmed.
While the RPG epic The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has now sold more than 40 million units, the sci-fi role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 has already sold more than 18 million units despite all the criticism. Sales figures for the title were last confirmed in December 2020; Back then, Cyberpunk 2077 was still selling 13 million, so that’s a lot more.
More interesting for the players of the title is the fact that the release plan for the first add-on to Cyberpunk 2077 has now been announced. After it was recently confirmed that work is definitely going on, it is now clear: the expansion should be published in the course of the coming year 2023. Detached from this, the team is also working on further optimizations for the title.
The studio’s short- to medium-term plans also include the recently announced The Witcher 4 based on Unreal Engine 5, further development of the next-gen version of The Witcher 3, which was initially postponed indefinitely, and a new spin-off of Gwent : The Witcher Card Game. With The Molasses Flood they are already working on a previously unannounced title, for other potential projects they are busy with conceptual work.
